An apparatus for discharging cinders from an incinerator has an upwardly open intake pit having horizontally spaced front and rear walls. A water-filled trough is provided below this intake pit and has an upwardly concave floor and defines an upwardly extending outlet for cinders which have been quenched after they have dropped down in the pit into the water in the trough. A stepped plunger has a front face slidable in an arcuate path along the floor of the trough between a retracted position relatively close to the front wall defining the pit and an advanced position relatively far from the front wall. This plunger also has an upper surface on which is provided a step having a face which lies in back of the front wall in the retracted position of the plunger and between the walls in the advanced position. Thus as the plunger is advanced from the retracted to the advanced position the step pushes large objects against the rear wall of the pit and compresses these large objects. In addition, this step is inclined so as to exert a downward component of force on material in the pit and press it against the floor of the trough.

The invention relates to slag removal devices and can be applied to large incinerator furnaces.
Devices for removing slag are known, which contain a donkey shaft, the lower end of which is placed in the bath, and the screw conveyor C 1 3 installed in the bath. The disadvantage of these devices is the impossibility of removing non-combustible bulky objects, - ,. falling into the furnace with garbage.
It is also known a slag removal device i, containing a slag shaft, the lower end of which is placed in a bath with a curvilinear bottom, and a pusher with an inclined working wall connected to a piston and equipped with an end plate C2 is installed under the rear wall of the shaft.
The disadvantage of the Facing Device is low reliability due to the fact that when removing bulky objects close to the width of an ax, the pusher cannot grab them and the mine is clogged with debris.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of work.
The goal is to achieve that in the device the upper surface of the inclined working wall is made with at least one step.
In addition, the length of the longitudinal section of each step is less than the stroke of the pusher.
The drawing shows the proposed device, a longitudinal section.
The device contains a slag shaft 1, the lower end of which is placed in the bath 2 with a curved bottom 3, and under the rear wall 4 of the shaft 1 is installed connected to the piston 5, a pusher 6 with an inclined working wall 7 provided with an end plate 8.
The upper surface of the inclined working wall 7 is made with steps 9, and the end face 10 of each step 9 is perpendicular to the longitudinal section 11 of the inclined wall 7, to which it is adjacent. The length of the longitudinal section 11 of each stage 9 is less than the stroke of the pusher 6.
The device works as follows.
Slag in mine 1 falls from the firebox (not shown) into the water-filled bath 2 and is discharged from it by the pusher 6. Objects whose size is close to the width of the mine 1 are pushed out of the bath 2 by the end of step 10 9. By placing the end of step 10 of step 9 perpendicular to the inclined wall 7, when moving the pusher 6 along a curvilinear bottom 3 of the bath 2, good engagement of objects with the ends 10 occurs.
Thus, for any size of objects falling into the bath 2, they are removed by the end plate 8 of the pusher 6 or the ends of the 10 steps 9.

1. REMOVAL DEVICE
